HTC Desire 12s Launched With 5.7-Inch Display, Snapdragon 435 SoC

HTC has launched its new Desire 12s smartphone in Taiwan. The new handset comes with Snapdragon 435 processor, 4GB RAM, and a 5.7-inch display. Additional highlights include 13MP cameras with LED flash on both front and back. It is essentially a toned down version of HTC Desire 12. The HTC Desire 12s is priced in Taiwan at TWD 5,990 (approx Rs 13,900) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant bears a price tag of TWD 6,990 (approx Rs 16,200). It comes in Black, Silver, and Red color options. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.

The new handset is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor along with 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB ROM. The internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card slot. It is backed by a 3,075mAh battery.

In terms of optics, the HTC Desire 12s sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), f/2.0 aperture, full HD (1080p) video recording capability, and a LED flash. The 13-megapixel fixed-focus front camera comes with f/2.2 aperture, and a built-in LED flash.

The HTC Desire 12s runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with HTC Sense on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n,
3.5mm audio jack, and a Micro-USB port.

The dual-SIM smartphone sports a 5.7-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It 154.2 x 72.7 x 8.3mm and weighs 150 grams. The rear panel comes with a ribbed finish (for better gripping) and a fingerprint scanner. Additional sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass sensor, magnetic sensor, and a proximity sensor.

The HTC Desire 12 sports a 5.5-inch HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC and 2GB/ 3GB RAM. The 16GB/ 32GB can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 2TB).

The dual-SIM handset runs Android-based HTC Sense UI. In the camera department, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel BSI camera sensor on the back. It comes with f/2.2 aperture. Up front, it has a 5-megapixel BSI sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The device comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and some sensors. It is also packed with a 2730mAh battery.
