We brought to you the story of LG Optimus G being available on an online retailers and today LG has officially unveiled the LG Optimus G in the country at a launch event which was held in the financial capital of the nation, Mumbai. But the launch price is nowhere near the pre-release price and the official price tag the Optimus G will come with Rs.34,500.

The LG Optimus G has come quite late to India compared to the rest of the world but the specs are by no means those of the yesteryear. The LG Optimus G will come with a 4.7-inch HD IPS Plus screen which will have a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. It will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and seeing that is the company’s flagship in the country, they should surely upgrade it to Android 4.2.2 as soon as possible.

The heart of the smartphone will be 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and taking care of the graphics department will be an Adreno 320 GPU. This is the same processor that can be found in the HTC Butterfly which commands a steep price tag of Rs.45,900. There is a 2GB RAM on offer to ensure that seamless multitasking and the camera will be a 13 MP snapper but it’s hardly better than an 8 MP camera while the secondary came will have a resolution of 1.3 MP.

There will be 32 GB of internal memory on offer which is non expandable and the battery power will stand at 2,100 mAH. LG says it will give you a talk time of 15 hours but real world usage remains to be seen. It will come with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC to complete the connectivity package. LG has high hopes from the device and we expect LG to bring in the Nexus 4 to India as well before Nexus 5 makes its way to the launchpad.
