Maxx AX8 Race and AX9Z Race Launched

Maxx mobiles, the company which came into Indian feature phone market is now trying to get a chunk of the lucrative smartphone market. India has a hughe potential to grow as a smartphone market and Maxx has just announced two new smartphones to help it make its presence felt on the Indian smartphone arena. It has launched AX8 Race and AX9Z Race in India at prices of Rs.8,875 and Rs.12,375 respectively.

Here’s a detailed list of the specifications of the AX8 Race

  • Screen: 5 inch screen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels
  • OS: Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Processor: 1GHz single core processor which is just too paltry according to us
  • RAM: 512 MB
  • Camera: 8MP primary camera with flash and a 2MP front camera
  • Memory: 4GB internal storage which can be expanded with the help of a memory card by another 32GB
  • Battery: 2,300 mAH battery which shall do just fine and will give you around a day with moderate usage.
  • Price: Rs.8,875

It has also launched another slightly premium handset, the AX9Z Race which has a bigger screen and runs on the latest version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Here’s a detailed list of its specifications:

  • Screen: 4.5 inches which has a resolution of 960×540 pixels
  • OS: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which is slowly becoming a standard these days
  • Processor: 1.2GHz dual core processor which is a Mediatek unit
  • RAM: 512MB
  • Memory: 4GB of internal storage is available and the device will support memory cards of upto 32GB
  • Camera: 8MP primary camera which teams up with a 2MP front camera
  • Connectivity: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS like its sibling
  • Battery: 2,300 mAH unit which we think will be the similar one to its younger sibling.

Both the smartphones will come with Dual SIM support. Maxx mobiles seems to have entered a bit late and the specifications of the devices are slightly old seeing the fact that at similar price points, you can get quad core devices. The devices seem to be a decent lot but in the price sensitive Indian market, they look slightly overpriced.

Nevertheless, you can order them from the company’s website if they appeal to you. They can be ordered from official website of Maxx Mobile and will come with a free screen guard and leather cover.
