After revealing a troupe of smartphones under the Nokia brand at the 2018 MWC in Barcelona, Finnish company HMD Global don’t look to be stopping anytime soon. According to Chinese publication ITHome, HMD Global is all set to launch its new smartphone– Nokia X– according to digital advertisements seen in China. It has also been reported that the advertisement mentioned 27th April 2018, as the launch date.
The Nokia X advertisements were spotted inside a movie theatre in China. Its authenticity has been proved. Two Nokia smartphones could be observed placed in an X-shape in the posters. The report states that the smartphone could be launched in the Chinese market on 27th April 2018.
The Older Nokia X With A New Look?
Nokia had earlier released the Nokia X in February 2014. It was an entry-level smartphone running on Nokia X platform 1.0. The publication also states that the smartphone won’t be a flagship one, and is predicted to be a mid-range one. It has been speculated that the Finnish company will introduce the older Nokia X in the market, but with a new look. Earlier HMD Global had done the same thing with Nokia 3310.
Recently this year, HMD Global had revealed three smartphones in India. The company introduced Nokia 8 Sirocco (flagship smartphone), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6. The smartphones were first shown at the Mobile World Congress this year, which was held in Barcelona. The new devices belong to different price ranges and sport different set of features too. The Zeiss optics is a common feature in the camera department of the smartphones. The smartphones are running on the latest Android Oreo operating system. The Nokia 8 Sirocco, which is also a flagship device has been priced at Rs. 49,999. The Nokia 6 has been set at Rs. 16,999 and the Nokia 7 Plus has been priced at Rs. 25,999.
