South Korean tech giant Samsung has had quite a history with exploding phones. Back in new 2016, during post-Galaxy Note 7 launch, various reports had surfaced across the world of the smartphone exploding. Now recently, a new incident has occurred. A woman in Detroit has complained that her Samsung Galaxy burned her car down in flames.

Samsung Galaxy Burned A Car

After hearing that a Samsung Galaxy burned down a car, the company responded immediately. The tech giant sent engineers to examine the burnt car. It was done to find out which handset was the primary– as the lady was carrying two Samsung Galaxy handsets; Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S8.

An ABC affiliate WXYZ reported that the woman was driving with two Samsung handsets in a cupholder. Out of the blue, she observed a spark emitting from one of the two handsets. It led to a big fire. The lady managed to go on the side, park her car and get out safely. Very soon, the Samsung Galaxy burned the car.

In the report, the woman mentioned that she was lucky that wasn’t speeding on a highway or stuck in traffic.

Both the Samsung Galaxy smartphones are not on the recall list current.

Other Developments

According to a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 leak reported by Bloomberg, the tech giant will launch the handset on 9th August 2018. It is also being alleged that the smartphone will sport an upgraded camera.

The Bloomberg report hints certain design features of the handset. It will be powered by an “upgraded” Qualcomm processor. The company will hold an “Unpacked” event in New York. The speculated date is 9th August.

The handset will have a premium 8GB RAM+512GB storage variant.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 benchmark scores have been listed on Geekbench under the model number Samsung SM-N960N. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 benchmark scores reveal that the handset will be equipped with Exynos 9810. It is an octa-core SoC, clocked at 1.79GHz. The model’s variant is  6GB of RAM on Android Oreo.

Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 benchmark scores receive a single-core benchmark score of 2,737 and a multi-core score of 9,064.
