Sony Xperia N1 Smartphone Coming With 21:9 Display At MWC 2019

Sony is all set to launch a new flagship smartphone at MWC 2019 next month. The upcoming handset is said to sport a 4K display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The Sony Xperia N1 will be unveiled on February 25 in Barcelona. It is expected to be priced at £799 (approx Rs 73,500) for the 128GB variant. The 256GB storage model is tipped to cost £899 (approx Rs 82,500). Previously, the handset was rumored to be priced at RMB 7,999 (approx Rs 83,900).

According to recent leaks and rumors, the upcoming smartphone sports a tall 6.5-inch display with 4K resolution, HDR support, and 21:9 aspect ratio. A pill-shaped icon at the bottom will replace the three-way navigation buttons. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with 6GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB internal storage.

In terms of optics, the Sony Xperia N1 is tipped to feature an updated Sony IMX 666 sensor with 1/1.5 CMOS area. The company might also use the IMX 664 and IMX 500 sensors for the triple rear camera setup. While the Sony IMX 664 is a 1/1.8-inch sensor that supports the 48-megapixel resolution, the IMX 500 is a 1/1.7-inch mid-range sensor with 40-megapixel resolution support.

The flagship handset is likely to run Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box. It will be backed by a 3,900mAh battery. A fingerprint sensor will be placed on the side. It comes with IP68 rating (water and dust resistance). Connectivity options will include USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The company is also expected to launch Xperia XA3, Xperia XA3 Ultra, and Xperia L3 at MWC 2019. The Xperia L3 sports a 5.7-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and 3,400mAh battery. The dual camera setup on the back uses a 13-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the side.

Whereas the Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra sport a similar design. However, the Ultra variant comes with a larger display (6.5-inch full-HD+ with 18:9 aspect ratio). The Sony Xperia XA3 sports a 5.9-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and full-HD+ (1080 x 2160pixels) resolution. Both handsets are said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor along with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. In terms of optics, both the Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA Ultra will sport a dual camera setup on the back.
