Vivo has finally launched the much-awaited dual-screen smartphone. The new Vivo NEX Dual Screen comes with two AMOLED displays and three rear cameras. The Vivo Nex Dual Screen is priced in China at CNY 4,998 (approx Rs 52,300). Sales start from December 29. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.

The new handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 10GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging.

In terms of optics, the Vivo Nex Dual Screen sports a triple rear camera set up at the back. It combines a 12-megapixel primary sensor (OIS, f/1.79 aperture), a 2-megapixel secondary night vision sensor (f/1.8 aperture), and a third TOF 3D stereo camera sensor. It supports Face Unlock feature.

The Vivo Nex Dual Screen runs Android 9.0 Pie operating system with Funtouch OS 4.5. Connectivity options on the Vivo Nex Dual Screen include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, a USB Type-C (v2.0) port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The dual-SIM smartphone sports two display panels – a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio + 5.49-inch AMOLED display with full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. An in-display fingerprint sensor is placed on the main display.

The new Vivo NEX Dual Screen comes in two color options – Ice Field Blue and Star purple. It measures 57.19 x 75.3 x 8.09mm and weighs 199.2 grams. Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

Conclusion

The Vivo NEX was launched in July this year at Rs 44,990. In terms of specifications, the Vivo handset sports a 6.59-inch Super AMOLED display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2316 pixels) resolution and a 19.3:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 8GB RAM.

The dual rear camera setup (on the back) combines a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor (with dual-core pixels + 4-axis OIS) with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. There is also an 8-megapixel pop-up camera on the front. The pop-up camera is controlled via a micro-drive system.

The dual-SIM smartphone is backed by a 4000mAh battery. It also comes a dedicated button for Google Assistant and Lens. The phone uses TOF 3D technology for face recognition, photography, virtual fitting, and mixed reality games. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor (50 percent more accurate than its predecessor), High-Fidelity sound, and 130dB dynamic range.
