Yu Yuphoria Review-5

Design

While boasting its premium looks, the Yuphoria looks stunning when it comes to design. The buttons on the handset are tactile. It sports metal rings around rear camera and features sturdy metal frames which makes it look remarkable. The phone comes with removable back with matte finish and users do not have to suffer with fingerprint problems. The overall feel of the phone is pretty good and the handset is quite suitable  for single hand usage. It misses out on LED notifications, yet the design language is great.

Display

The Yuphoria features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels resolution) display with scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is quite impressive when it comes to viewing angles and color quality. It offers decent outdoor visibility and comes with adaptive brightness such that the phone adjusts brightness based on the surroundings. The handset is suitable for video viewing and gaming.

Music

The phone comes bundled with good quality earphones. There is an in-built audio equalizer onboard for good control over sound. It is loud and clear on speakers and offers pleasurable music experience to the users.

SIM Options, Call Clarity, Network Reception

The dual-SIM YU Yuphoria offers good network strength. Audio calls are pretty clear and it supports 3G/HSDPA up to speeds of 8 to 9 Mbps. The handset also supports 4G LTE.

Memory

The Yuphoria houses 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD cards. It comes with support for moving apps to SD card. However it lacks USB OTG support.

Performance

The Yu Yuphoria packs a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core CPU alongside 64-bit OS. It comes with Snapdragon 410 chipset which offers moderate performance. It  runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based Cyaonogen OS 12 which helps in improved performance. The phone houses 2GB of RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage of which 11GB memory is available to users. The handset is loaded with several sensors.

The phone does not heats too much and allows games such as asphalt to be played seamlessly on medium graphics settings. The Yuphoria is certainly a decent performer in this price segment.

Camera

There is an 8 mega pixel rear camera on Yu Yuphoria with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. It comes with several modes and simple UI. The image output is of good quality when clicked in ample light as well as for indoor HDR pictures. The shots clicked in low light indoors however lack detailing and are not very impressive. It is capable of shooting full HD videos as well as slow motion videos.

It also sports a 5 mega pixel front facing camera which gives sharp pictures. The shots captured from front camera have high clarity, width and detailing. The front camera can also shoot full HD videos.

Battery Life

Backed up by a 2230mAh battery, the Yuphoria can survive for a full day on moderate usage. It comes with Quick Charge technology and offers long standby life. Considering the specs of the phone, it comes with decent battery capacity.

The handset also comes with Quick Charge support. The pros apparently outweigh the cons of this phone. The Yuphoria is thus, a great value for money device in sub-Rs. 7,000 price range.
