Honor 7X 4GB RAM Variant Now Available In India Via Offline Channels

Huawei launched its Honor 7X smartphone in India in December 2017. The new handset comes with AI capabilities, dual rear cameras and a large 18:9 display. Price Rs 15,999

The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant will be available via offline channels from Feb 9 at Rs 15,999. It comes with a standard 12-month warranty and will be manufactured under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The new variant comes in Blue and Black color options. The 32GB internal storage variant of Honor 7X will be available at Rs 12,999.

The new Honor 7X sports a 5.93-inch curved display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC (4 x 2.36GHz Cortex-A53 cores + 4 x 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 cores) and 4GB RAM. The new handset comes in two storage variants – 32GB, and 64GB. Both variants support microSD cards (up to 256GB).

On the camera front, the Honor 7X features a dual camera setup at the back (similar to the Honor 6X). It combines a 16-megapixel sensor with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The new smartphone also sports an 8-megapixel front camera. It is backed by a 3240mAh battery.

The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with EMUI 5.1 on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, and GPS / GLONASS. The new handset uses micro-USB port instead of a type-C connector.

Honor 7X Red Limited Edition

The new Honor handset sports minimal bezels and a metal unibody design. Sensors on the device include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the back side. 

A new software update (build number B192) brings features like Face Unlock and AR Lens. The Face Unlock feature uses a biometric authentication tool to unlock the Honor 7X device. You can find it in Settings > Security and Privacy > Face Unlock. The AR Lens in the front camera allows you to add effects and modify backgrounds while taking selfies. It can be accessed from Camera > Modes > AR Lens.

Additional features in the new software update include smart lock screen notifications. You can manage these from Settings > Security and Privacy > Face Unlock > Smart lock screen notifications. The new software is expected to reach the Indian shores pretty soon.

Conclusion

The new Honor 7X is essentially a larger version of Honor 6X which was launched in January 2017. With the new smartphone, Honor plans to out-compete dominating players in the Indian smartphone. The brand is trying to increase its presence in both online and offline platforms. It also plans to launch exclusive Honor demo shops in India.
