The Huawei Mate 20 is priced at EUR 799 (approx Rs 67,800) for the 4GB RAM variant. The 6GB RAM model costs EUR 849 (approx Rs 72,100). The Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a price tag of EUR 1049 (approx Rs 89,100). Both handsets come in five color options – Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Pink Gold, Twilight, and Black.

The Huawei Mate 20 X is priced at EUR 899 (approx Rs 76,300). It will be available from October 26 in Midnight Blue and Phantom Silver color options. As of now, there is no information about the Indian launch date or price.

Specifications and Features

Highlights of the new handset include triple rear camera setup, 40W Huawei SuperCharge technology, and the latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 7nm chipset. Additionally, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro features an in-display fingerprint sensor. Whereas the Huawei Mate 20 X comes with support for Huawei’s M-Pen stylus.

The new smartphone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 7nm SoC with dual AI processor and 4GB/ 6GB RAM. The 128GB internal storage can be further expanded via a hybrid SIM slot (can fit in two Nano SIM cards or one Nano SIM card + one Nano memory card). The company has announced the world’s first Nano memory card (said to be 45 percent smaller than the microSD card).

In terms of optics, the Huawei Mate 20 sports a triple rear camera set up by Leica. It combines a 16-megapixel ultra wide angle sensor (f/2.2 aperture), 12-megapixel wide angle sensor (f/1.8 aperture), and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens (f/2.4 aperture). Camera features include Super HDR and a LED flash. There is also a 24-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling.

The new handset is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with support for new 40W Huawei SuperCharge technology. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

The Pro variant is powered by the same HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor along with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It runs Android 9.0 Pie operating system with EMUI 9.0 on top. The 4,200mAh battery comes with support for 40W SuperCharge technology. However, it also supports 15W fast wireless charging support. Huawei claims that it is the “world’s first wireless reverse charging” technology on a smartphone.

In terms of optics, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro also sports a triple camera set up by Leica. It combines a 40-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens (f/1.8 aperture), 20-megapixel ultra wide angle sensor (f/2.2 aperture), and an 8-megapixel 3X telephoto lens (f/2.4 aperture). Camera features include Super HDR and a LED flash. The 24-megapixel RGB camera on the front comes with support for 3D facial unlocking. Camera features include 3D Live Emoji, with support for GIF and MP4 files.

The new handset sports a 6.39-inch curved OLED display with QHD+ (1440 x 3120 pixels) resolution, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 HDR, 86.9 percent screen-to-body ratio, and high color saturation. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The new smartphone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and IP68 rating (water and dust resistance).

The new handset comes with a larger 7.2-inch OLED Full-HD+ display and a huge 5,000mAh battery. The Huawei Mate 20 X comes with similar optics as the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. However, it lacks the 3D face unlock tech.

Additional features include an IP53 rating (water and dust resistant), an improved cooling system (graphene film and vapor chamber), Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, and support for the Huawei M-Pen (supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity).

Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design

The new handset is essentially a limited edition variant of the Mate 20 Pro. It comes with the similar hardware as the Mate 20 Pro. However, the back panel is clad in leather with a vertical strip of glass in the center. The premium smartphone is priced at EUR 1695 (approx Rs 1,44,000) for the 8GB RAM/ 256GB internal storage variant. The 8GB RAM/ 512GB storage model comes with a price tag of EUR 2095.(approx Rs 1,78,000).
