The new smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 (MTK MT6761) processor and 2GB RAM. The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a micro SD card (up to 512GB). The 3,020mAh battery comes with Huawei’s proprietary battery optimization tool.
In terms of optics, the Huawei Y6 (2019) sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The 8-megapixel front camera comes with a Selfie toning flash 2.0 feature (for brighter pictures). It also supports the Face Unlock feature.

The Huawei Y6 (2019) sports a 6.09-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1560 pixels) resolution, a dewdrop notch and 87 percent screen to body ratio. It also comes with TÜV Rheinland certification (cuts down blue light exposure to reduce the strain on eyes).
The new handset runs Android 9 Pie operating system with EMUI 9.0 on top. The company claims that a native Phone Manager tool helps to boost the system speed and offer a smoother user experience. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, GPS, Glonass, BDS, Bluetooth, Micro USB, Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi Hot Spot.
For audiophiles, the Huawei Y6 (2019) comes with the Huawei SuperSound technology that produces an additional 6dB of sound with a more pronounced bass effect. Additional features include Party mode, Histen 5.0, and built-in FM radio.
The new handset comes in Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue color options. Both models feature a polished rear panel. Additionally, an Amber Brown variant comes with a faux leather rear panel. Sensors on the device include a fingerprint sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, and a SAR sensor.
The Huawei Y6 Pro also features a 6.09-inch FullView Dewdrop display with HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It was touted as the first device to sport a Dewdrop display panel. The handset sports a textured leather finish design and comes in two color options – Amber Brown and Midnight Black.
