Indian state-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has just announced two new tariff plans. This can be seen as a move to give tough competition to companies like Jio and Airtel. The new BSNL tariff plans are priced at Rs. 319 and Rs. 99 respectively.
The new BSNL tariff plans are voice-only prepaid plans. The plans offer unlimited voice calls for customers.
The New BSNL Tariff Plans:
Rs. 319 Prepaid Plan
The Rs. 319 prepaid plan offers unlimited voice calls in home circle and on roaming (except Mumbai and Delhi). Users wanting free voice calls in these two cities have to apply for a separate plan. The plan doesn’t have any FUP. It permits users to make unlimited voice calls. It is similar to Jio and Airtel.
The plan has a validity of 90 days since the day of recharging.
Rs. 99 Prepaid Plan
The Rs. 99 prepaid plan provides free caller tune and unlimited voice call service. The caller tune feature is not there in the 319 plan. Its validity is 26 days. It competes with Jio’s Rs. 98 plan and Airtel’s Rs. 99 plan. Its validity is 26 days after recharging.
Both the plans offer only voice calls, unlike free data also provided by its other rival companies.
These plans are aimed at those who make regular calls frequently and a lot from their mobile network. The drawback of these plans is the absence of free data. To receive free data also, BSNL offers an Rs. 118 prepaid plan. It offers unlimited voice calls and 1GB data for 28 days. Moreover, it is available only in Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles. BSNL users also have an Rs. 187 plan which provides unlimited voice calls and 1GB 3G data every day for 28 days. It is offered in all regions of the country.
