HTC Desire 826 and Samsung Galaxy A7 both are powered by identical processors. There is an octa core (quad-core 1.7 GHz + quad-core 1.0 GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor equipped in both the devices. Gionee Elife S7 comes with 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTeK 6752 processor.


In display department, again Desire 826 and Galaxy A7 feature same display size. Both devices pack a 5.5 inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 401 ppi pixel density. Gionee Elife S7 features a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 424 ppi pixel density and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Operating System

HTC Desire 826 and Gionee Elife S7 run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under HTC Sense 6.0 and Amigo OS 3.0 respectively. The Galaxy A7 is still stuck with Android 4.4.KitKat operating system with TouchWiz UI over its top.


All the three smartphones sport a 13 mega pixel auto focus primary camera with LED flash. The HTC Desire 826 takes the crown in front camera department as it sports a 13 mega pixel front shooter with BSI sensor. Elife S7 comes with an 8 mega pixel camera while Galaxy A7 sports a 5 mega pixel front facing camera.


All three devices equip 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt memory. Elife S7 lacks microSD card support. HTC Desire 826 and Samsung Galaxy A7 come with expandability support up to 128 GB and 64 GB respectively via microSD card.


Desire 826 and Galaxy A7 pack 2600 mAh battery, Elife S7 on the other hand is fueled by a larger 2750 mAh battery.

Dimensions & Weight

Gionee Elife S7 is known for its sleek design and wins the sleekness battle with mere 5.5 mm thickness while also weighing lightest with 126.5 grams weight. Samsung Galaxy A7 ranks second in this criterion with 6.3 mm thickness and 141 grams weight followed by HTC Desire 826 with 8 mm thickness and 183 grams of weight.


HTC Desire 826 carries a price tag of Rs. 25,990 which is Rs. 991 higher than Rs. 24,999 price tag of Gionee Elife S7. Samsung Galaxy A7 is priced considerably higher at Rs. 29,300.


The Gionee Elife carries the lowest price tag among the three devices compared here, however it lags behind the other two phones in display and expandable storage department. The other two handsets are nearly identical in their specs, yet the Galaxy A7 carries a much higher price tag as compared to Desire 826. Thus, Desire 826 offers rich configuration, excellent camera, sound storage and much more at an impressive price and is appropriate for those who are looking for value for money device.
