And the latest company to venture into India to satiate the hunger of the Indians on the technology frontier, is the Hongkong based electronics company EKEN Electronics who have just launched their budget tablets in the Indian market at an event held in Kochi.

‘EKEN Leopard’ will be the name of the range of tablets and they will be priced between Rs.6,900 and Rs.11,999. “India is an exploding market with huge potential for cost effective tablets. This factor influenced us to launch quality budget tablets in India and this will enable computing advantage to everyone”, is what Edison Chang, CEO EKEN Electronics had to say through a press release after the launch of the tablets and the message pretty much conveys the company’s intent.

Lava Xolo X500 Android Phone At Rs.8,999

Lava came to the rescue of the tech giant Intel when most of the companies did not come forward to come into an alliance with them to use their chipsets. And Intel made sure they treated the budget Indian brand well. They brought in the high end Xolo X900 in association with LAVA but the brand did not have a very high aspirational value and the high end smartphone did not find many takers.

But Intl promised budget offerings in the later stages of association and those are the ones which Indians like to lay their hands on the most. And if a budget handset comes with the branding of something as big as Intel, sales numbers are surely going to go out of the ceiling. ava is all set to launch the Android powered Lava Xolo X500 which will be powered by the Atom Lexington Z2420 which Intel had showcased at the CES 2013.

Byond B63 Dual Core Android Phone Launched

Pune based electronics maker, Byond seems to be taking on its compatriots head on. Competition may be launching dual core smartphones at a higher price point but the sub Rs.10,000 price bracket is the one that would bring in volumes and they are looking to do just that. Byond has just launched an affordable dual core smartphone named Byond B63 at a price of Rs12,499 but it’s retailing at Rs.9,999 so we believe the latter will be the price of the smartphone.

The B63 comes with a 4.5 inch qHD TFT capacitive touch screen with a display resolution of 960×540 pixels and it launches with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean when every budget droid out there comes Androud 4.0.4 ICS. So yes that gives it an edge over the rest. It looks like HTC One X from the back panel which houses a 8 MP HD camera which we believe would give you better pictures than the other budget 8 MP snappers out there.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 With WiFi Only Launched At Rs. 13,990

Samsung has been facing tough competition from the budget electronics manufacturers in India from quite some time. The company even though has been the undisputed leader in the smartphone segment, it is the tablet segment where it has had to work hard to maintain its position at the zenith. And in a bid to maintain their dominance, they have started taking the orders of their least priced tablet, the Galaxy Tab 2’s Wi-Fi only version at a price of Rs.13,900.

Now this makes the device compete with the Indian manufacturers on the price point and the device comes from a MNC rather than an Indian brand which surely is a big plus for the tablet. The tablet will ship with the latest version of Android, which will be Jelly Bean and shall reach the shelves in the first week of February and if you order now, you’ll get a free flip cover with device and you’ll be amongst the first ones to lay their hands on the device.

Acer Iconica B1 Launched In India At Rs.8,199

Samsung and Apple are battling it out for the top place in the tablet segment globally but that’s a battle which can be played only in countries like the United States. We Indians are a bit under the budget constraints which are the primary reasons for the success of the tablets from the Indian electronics manufacturers. And to beat the Indian companies at their own game, has entered a global giant, Acer with their latest budget offering Acer Iconica B1 tablet.

And finally the time has come when we can lay our hands on this budget device. The Acer Iconica B1 is being made available officially in India at a pricetag of Rs.8,199 which pits it right against the offerings from Micromax and Karbonn. The device has by no means budget specs and is prety well equipped as it comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a 1.2 GHz dual core processor.

Lava eTab Xtron 7 Inch Android Tab Launched At Rs. 6770

Acer recently announced the Acer Iconica B1 at a budget price of Rs.8,199 and we believed that this would lead to the Indian manufacturers of tablets dropping the prices f their budget tablets as people would any day prefer a budget tablet from an MNC over that from an Indian brand with similar specifications. But they could also launch newer products at a lesser price as well. And this precisely what Lava has done.

Lava has just introduced their first Jelly Bean powered budget tablet, the Lava eTab Xtron. The tablet can be all yours for a price of Rs.6,770. The tablet will be a 7 inch tablet and will have a capacitive display to complement the Android power it brings to the table. The 7 inch capacitive display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and being an IPS display unit, we expect the device to reproduce crystal clear images as well. The device comes with 8 GB of internal storage and the memory can be expanded upto 32 GB via a microSD card.
